Purzel is a little diva with a big personality and a wonderful sense of humor. He likes to be politely persuaded and never rushes into things. Even though he truly loves going for walks, he doesn’t allow himself to be leashed right away. Volunteers who don’t know Purzel very well often find themselves chasing him all around the enclosure, trying in vain to catch him — it almost looks as if Purzel is inviting them to play a game of tag.
Those who know Purzel better are in on his little secret: all you have to do is walk toward the exit, and he will immediately follow, making sure he doesn’t get left behind. Even though this trick is well known by now, we sometimes happily play along and chase after him with leash and collar anyway, simply because Purzel so clearly enjoys the game.
Purzel is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He adores people, greets everyone with joy, and is equally enthusiastic about anything edible. At the moment, Purzel is a bit on the round side, and we’re keeping an eye on his weight — although his irresistible charm often earns him an extra treat from visitors. With his lovable nature, playful spirit, and cheeky grin, Purzel wins hearts wherever he goes.
