- shy, but very playful dog, elegant dog (Pina Bausch)
Pina was abandoned as a very young puppy in a mountain village where a pack of other dogs was already roaming around; unfortunately, she was never really accepted by them.
Naturally shy by nature, this difficult situation made it even harder for her to gain trust.
She spent most of her time hiding, so the volunteers from Miao rarely saw her, which made it very difficult for them to make contact with this special little dog.
In the autumn, three years later, a small team finally managed to catch Pina. Her condition was alarming — she was extremely thin and completely exhausted.
Since then, she has been safe, living in a group with four other dogs who accept her. With them, and with very patient helpers, Pina is taking small steps toward a better life.
She has now become very playful, much braver with the other dogs, and also with us humans. She walks wonderfully on a leash, enjoys long walks, is already used to riding in the car, and no longer gets too scared in unfamiliar surroundings.
Of course, there is still much for her to learn, but together with her friends it is much easier for her to follow her curiosity and embrace new experiences.
Pina will always remain a bit reserved with unfamiliar people, but she has learned that routine and, above all, loving care protect her and that she can rely on her humans.
Despite her size, she never shows dominant behavior or aggression. She has a gentle and friendly nature and always tries to fit in carefully. We are very happy that she has now become curious and more confident even with dogs she does not know.
We will continue to support and encourage her as much as we can. Her development is something very special to us, and we are extremely proud of her!
Of course, it would be so much better if we could find her very own person — someone who will stand by her and stay with her. She, Pina, is ready for it!
